About Hatters Meadows

At Hatters Meadows, we are passionate about creating a place where our guests can truly escape, relax, and reconnect with nature.

Our journey began with a vision: to offer a camping and glamping destination that not only provides comfort and adventure, but also nurtures and celebrates the surrounding wildlife.

From the start, we’ve designed our site to enhance its natural environment. What used to be a plain field with no features is now home to tussocky grasses, wildflowers, trees and hedges that provide privacy for our guests and habitats for local wildlife. Our careful planning makes sure we leave a minimal impact on the ecosystem.

We’re proud to be a haven for both people and nature, and we hope our efforts inspire guests to carry a love for the outdoors into their own lives.

Our Wild Meadow theme reflects our belief that camping should be fun and imaginative. Every pitch and glamping space has its own name, adding a touch of charm to your stay. Whether you’re toasting marshmallows over a fire pit, exploring the adventure trail, or simply watching the stars, we want you to feel immersed in the magic of the outdoors.

Above all, we value space and tranquillity. Our generous pitches and thoughtfully designed glamping units make sure you’ll never feel crowded, letting you fully relax and unwind.

We can’t wait to welcome you and share the beauty of Hatters Meadows.

Recycling & Sustainability

At Hatters Meadows, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do.

Our commitment to preserving the environment drives our goal to recycle 90% of all rubbish on site. To make recycling simple and effective, we provide eight dedicated bins for materials like plastics, bread bags, crisp packets, tin and metal, glass, compost, and more, alongside a general waste bin.

We’re proud to be a single-use plastic free campsite and encourage all guests to use reusable drink cups and containers. Any plastic or cellophane used on-site is recyclable or compostable, which reinforces our commitment to reducing waste.

Every detail of our operation reflects our eco-conscious ethos. From 100% renewable electricity powering the site, to recycled toilet rolls, we aim to minimise our environmental impact. Even the hand wash provided on-site is eco-friendly.

We believe that small actions can create big changes. Every stay contributes to a healthier planet. Together, we can protect and nurture the wildlife and landscapes that make Hatters Meadows so special.

Nature & Biodiversity

Hatters Meadows is more than just a getaway; it’s a place where nature thrives.

As proud members of the Ely Nature Friendly Farming Zone, we work closely with neighbouring farms to create and connect wildlife habitats, aiming to increase biodiversity across the region. From encouraging pollinators to safeguarding wildlife like water voles and Barn owls, our mission is to protect and nurture native species.

Our partnership with the RSPB has been invaluable in developing this environment. They’ve offered expertise and support as we try to boost populations of endangered birds and other at-risk wildlife.

Guests can see these efforts in action, from the flourishing wildflowers that attract bees and butterflies to the careful preservation of waterways that sustain aquatic life.

We encourage everyone to take small but meaningful steps to support local wildlife. Allow wildflowers to grow, support seasonal local food, and reduce their environmental impact to make a big difference.
